CORRUPT renovates woodland area in Sweden
May 22, 2007 (SWEDEN) CORRUPT activists struck a blow against apathy today
by removing trash from a highly-visible wildlife area, where government and
citizens alike had be content to leave it. Staff scientists identified a
79% probability that petrochemicals and food additives would have leached
into nearby streams and food plants.
While most people have recognized subliminally that a society based on
monetary value and individual preference will soon drown in its own
parasitic tendencies, and for that reason are too depressed to take action,
CORRUPT activist Alex Birch broke the surface tension by publically removing
seven bags of toxic trash from a forest clearing visible from major roads.
The theory behind such small but significant steps is the "broken window
theory," which states that an unrepaired broken window suggests apathy
and encourages others to vandalize or commit bigger crimes. After the broken
window theory was implemented in New York City, violent crime dropped 75%,
and the city retains the lowest crime rate of the ten biggest cities in the
USA.
CORRUPT activists recognize that most people live in apathy, fear and
near-mental breakdown because the obvious insanity of modern society is
never publically acknowledged, making them feel inadequate or insane. Yet we
all like forests, and want to live more meaningful lives, but are coerced
into going along with the program because we have not seen anyone break the
ice and step out of line without also stepping into oblivion.
Alex and CORRUPT activists like him keep publically putting the pressure on
society at large to acknowledge that modern society is not a product of
history, but a brief break from history after which it will resume. Modernity
is an illusion created by our technological wealth, and as our society
decays, this becomes increasingly obvious. The solution to modern society is
to fight back even in small ways, showing others that dissidence is not only
possible but has positive effects far beyond its immediate impact.
