US scientists Wednesday raised fears that a different strain of the bird flu virus could mutate to become more easily transmissible among humans and trigger a pandemic.

"Since their introduction into land-based birds in 1988, H9N2 avian influenza A viruses have caused multiple human infections and become endemic in domestic poultry in Eurasia," said the study published in the journal of the Public Library of Science.

OMG last time I checked it was H5N1 but the numbers are increasing which much mean it's much worse and we're all going to die ASAP. Either that, or our media makes money by reporting fears, our governments control by fears, our fellow citizens manipulate us with fears, and we live for these fears because modern society is so boring the Bird AIDS Apocalypse sounds like an "up."
