I just stumbled across Charlie Manson's latest album, apparently released under the Creative Commons license, which has offended some people in the public media (OMFG a murderer is abusing our freedom!11!!).
A friend of mine described the music as "psychedelic sophist folk rock, minus the reactionary pacifist themes."
I think Manson is a misunderstood hippie that reacted to the hollow consumer culture in the US, but didn't really have any solution other than "peace-freedom-liberation." He's not mad, just misinformed.
Anyway, you can download his album here.

I've always found the music
I've always found the music of Charles Manson to be pretty boring after you get past the fact that he was a murderer. Try Carlo Gesualdo. Amazing late Renaissance composer, who experimented in chromaticism -- and also murdered his wife for her infidelity, her lover, his infant baby and, by some sources, his father-in-law.
I don't recall Charles
I don't recall Charles Manson being a murderer.
You are correct, Manson
You are correct, Manson apparently never killed anyone himself. He's in jail for conspiracy to commit murder.
