It's natural and normal to want to help or support the weak or poor among us. Thus, a lot of people like to say, and possibly even think, that they are for the poor or for the working class. What does that really mean today, though? Why is it that everyone who is "for the working class" is so virulently against just about anything we actually want or like? They are definitely opposed to our clothes, sports, music, beer, religion, even food... I remember when helping the poor was largely about helping them eat more food; now we have serious campaigns aimed at making food less tasty so the poor will eat less. How things have changed...
If you want to be an actual "class warrior" today, try defending NASCAR fans, guidos or Juggalos against the insults and abuse heaped upon them.
Of course, nobody in the real world bothers to do that. In reality, being "for" poor people isn't about poor people at all, it's all about competing with other non-poor people for status.
