Facebook Bans Criticism of Democracy as 'Obscene Content'

Submitted by Staff on Tue, 11/04/2008 - 21:42.

From one of our Corrupt supporters:

I had this message waiting for me when I signed into Facebook today:

"Please Read This!

Guess which photo it was?
Yep, the Corrupt.org bumper sticker "End Democracy 08". Think it's a coincidence this happened on election day?

The image that offended Facebook was this:

The ugly face of neo-Stalinism is revealing its true nature, when even private non-governmental forms of communication require obedience to democracy and don't permit alternatives. Wasn't the whole idea behind Freedom and Change that we're free to speak our minds and change the world around us? Or is self-criticism banned in the supposedly best system of government humanity has to offer? Democracy is its own enemy and will, as Plato noted, develop into tyranny once it has undermined its own founding principles. The hypocrisy of the West continues.

Show the world you refuse to back down--order home a batch or End Democracy t-shirts and stickers from our merchandise store today!

Similar situation

I just put the sticker on my car. Today I wake up and my father tells me to take it off and he will not have that car with that sticker parked in front of his house. And when I get back from school he wants to know why have it. So i tell him, there is a website on there, www.corrupt.org if you want to learn as to why I chose to put the sticker there, go read something on there maybe you'll learn something. I come back from school, and send him an email with an essay on antidemocracy, and quickly explain why I put the sticker up. The only thing he has said to my face since was "I looked all over the website and I can't find what they are proposing instead." My response was do you need to propose a new thing to point out what is wrong with the current? NO. He hasn't said anything else on the matter. I doubt hell say something to my face, but send me a lame email. I don't think he has the capability to enforce his authority to my face. Needless to say the sticker is still on the car. And I intend on keeping it there as long as I can.

Had it happen to me on photobucket

I posted a bunch of images satiring Obama and Obama's speech to my photobucket, and they were there for quite a while but now right after he won they were deleted.. I honestly think thats connected to him winning or something as my images satiring black rappers and looking up on Bill Cosby were also deleted as offensive and they were there for 2 years beforehand. It is pure hypocracy at its worst.

Regarding X's comment,

It's not a matter of voting in someone who will end democracy, it's gathering together people who will abandon the idea that democracy and undefined progress will lead to anything but chaos. People need to not only be convinced of this fact, but need to put it into action by rejecting progressivism and the idea that being reactionary and the polar opposite is a viable alternative. Societies need to embrace traditional value on a local level instead of waiting for values to be handed down by a lobbyist fueled savior, whether it's Obama or McCain.

Well, now it should be "End

Well, now it should be "End Democracy '12".
