(Jokela, FI) - After an online group dedicated to praise for the ideas of the Jokela High School Shooter Pekka-Eric Auvinen grew rapidly and became the talk of the net, Facebook administrators pulled the plug. In doing so, they did what the gunman predicted would occur when he said "most of you are too arrogant and closed-minded to understand."
There are many of us who feel the way we do, but we are too aware of the examples of history what happens to those who step out of line and suggest anything other than that personal denial of reality and self-enrichment are the only path for humanity. Despite all of our fancy justification of freedom, anti-terrorism, progressivism and so forth, our species is just a self-enabling cancer that refuses to limit itself. We adopt elaborate excuses for our behavior, most centering around morality, but few have any real relevance to reality:
"This self-delusion, the result of what's called cognitive dissonance, has been demonstrated over and over by researchers who have come up with increasingly elaborate explanations for it. Psychologists have suggested we hone our skills of rationalization in order to impress others, reaffirm our 'moral integrity' and protect our 'self-concept' and feeling of 'global self-worth.'" - source
What Pekka-Eric Auvinen did was shatter our pretense that we are living a sane lifestyle as a species, and to for a brief moment, sidetrack us from thinking about our own desires right now to see a bigger picture, like that of history or philosophy. _He gave us a wake-up call before we fall into the true abyss of a failing civilization._ He did it by coming from a good background, having more to live for than most, and still opting out of a consensual, collective delusion that our lives are worth living.
Our society is suicide. Our personal lives are afflicted by boring mechanisms of society in which we must take lies seriously, tolerate parasites, see nitwits promoted as geniuses and see all good people ignored because they, by insisting that reality exists, have denied the cognitively-dissonant illusion that we can each live in our own version of reality and still have it be "real." Since the dawn of humanity, sick people have pursued this illusion, called "denial," but healthy people have not.
What Pekka-Eric Auvinen did was sick but spurs us on a path to health, if we accept it. The staff and administration of Facebook, by deleting our groups and censoring our publications, is perpetuating the denial that will ultimately cause the demise of the human species and its natural environment. We continue to set up groups and to provoke discussion on this issue so that others can also become awakened to reality, and possibly save all of our sorry asses.
