Spirituality is important but as an editor I always hear this as an excuse from people who want to flake:
"Sorry Alex, I need to speak to my soul for a year or two, it's really important. See Ya!"
I don't disrespect these people but I think people overdo this and misunderstand the whole thing completely. You can self-organize your life towards higher ideals simply by reducing all things you don't need in your life and focus on what's essential. Do you need video games? That latest book or CD? 5000+ friends? 9 parties a week?
You're not going to find "Truth" by playing Buddha if you haven't even grasped the basics of how to write a decent article, digg a post, promote 5 projects or take a programming task to success. The kind of people who write in to me and say they're going to become spiritual masters, so Corrupt work must wait, usually end up collecting Hollywood movies and playing video games on their spare time. It's sad but true.
I think Gilgamesh was right here: stop worrying about things you can't change. Life for all humans is essentially the same and has been so for all eternity. There's no Glorious Point to why we're here. We seek the same basic passions and pleasures. Some people want to be hip and find "unique" interests, but if we examine how they live their life 5 years from now, we'll realize they're really just normals who think they're special.
Special people don't pretend to be special because people recognize them through their actions. They don't need to express themselves to look good; they look good because they achieve good things that other people appreciate and benefit from.
Back to the basics! No complexity before we've mastered the platform. Stop making excuses for remaining passive. I don't say this to "attack" you, I say it because I've already heard all stories on why You're "busy" and "important." The only way to impress us is to act. We'd love to have you on board; don't hesitate to contact us and we'll guide you in the right direction, but we can do nothing unless you're willing to take the first step yourself. The spirituality will grow inside of you as a product of your actions.
