More humour from the Obamarama Dept.:

Today’s Obamateurism comes from the speech Barack Obama made to the joint session of Congress, in which he demonstrated a curious mathematics on bankruptcies and health care. Pajamas Media columnist AWR Hawkins did the research that the Obama administration apparently found beyond its reach — and the math that no one in the White House bothered to do:

For example, on February 24, 2009, while speaking to a joint session of Congress, Obama said: “The crushing cost of health care … now causes a bankruptcy in America every thirty seconds.” Upon hearing this I grabbed my calculator and ascertained that that means roughly 1,036,800 American families a year are filing bankruptcy because of healthcare expenses.

This is quite amazing when you consider that the New York Times reported there were only 826,732 bankruptcies in America in 2007, with approximately 1.2 million estimated for 2008. Either Obama is right and nearly every bankruptcy in this country is a result of healthcare expenses, or the numbers are purposely being exaggerated in order to create a crisis great enough to justify implementing his healthcare plan.

Obama is a bloviator at heart. Democracies always promote these leaders to power, because the people love hearing pleasant talk, and not the harsh truths that make nations great. Now he's trying to implement his nutty healthcare plan, increasing spending until we have runaway inflation and more broken middle class economies. Good work!

Another calculated miss from Obama's side was his visit to Turkey, where he proclaimed cosmopolitical unity:

While the American media paints Barack Obama’s European tour as a balm on strained relations with EU allies, Europeans have a much different reaction to Obama today. After Obama endorsed Turkey’s bid to enter the EU, the Continental grumbling has broken through in the media — and the political class. Der Spiegel reports that German and French officials have begun complaining about Obama’s arrogance in injecting himself into a European decision, including French President Nicolas Sarkozy:

“Turkey is bound to Europe by more than bridges over the Bosporus,” Obama told the Turkish parliament on Monday. “Centuries of shared history, culture and commerce bring you together. And Turkish membership would broaden and strengthen Europe’s foundation once more.”

Once again, this is what happens when we elect a head of state with no experience in foreign policy, and an apparent lack of curiosity about policies and issues. Even a moderately interested observer of EU politics would know that Turkey’s membership application has generated a lot of resistance and controversy. A well-informed head of state would realize that the kind of declaration given by Obama would likely damage those prospects, as it would represent a challenge for the EU to show some autonomy from the US.

An insensitive move, especially since Mr Sarkozy is a soft Conservative in France (which means he's part bullshit, part honesty). As I argued earlier today, the reason why many high-officials in EU and America want Turkey joining EU is to consolidate power in the Caucasian region (what do you think the Georgian conflict was all about?). EU independence is of course only small-talk: American policy indirectly dictates EU policy, not forgetting NATO.

Europeans are fed with Conservative propaganda about Islamofascism, so they freak out when the American President suggests we invite Turkey to the family. This author is indeed skeptical of the cultural consequences of such move (Obama is bloviating: Turkey, like Russia, is Eurasian, and therefore not compatible with Western cultural values), but I don't think the EU is pressing this issue for more immigration alone.

The real truth of today among the political gibberish: we are heading toward a Western empire government, with a suspectable person leading America. We need to make the best use of this power and stop sitting in our ideological corners and proclaim our dogma to the 5,000 people who care to listen. Your Conservative/Leftist/Liberal revolution is not coming. We need political unity, traditional culture, sane economic policies keeping the bankers at bay, and more pressure on unstable powers who want to become our energy nannies. Call it Neocon, call it Republican, or NWO. To me, it's common sense. Time will tell who triumphs our civilization age.
