The anti-copyright crowd kicked at the music business, because it was complacent, wasteful and reactionary, and no digital download services were available. Then they kicked at DRM-locked music, because DRM was there. Then DRM died, and they'd indiscriminately kick at the music business - indie or major - simply because there was a middleman. But now, with no middleman, they just kick the creator directly. They can't stop kicking. These zombies are unstoppable. Are they incurable, too?

Music costs too much because society is profit-based, and everyone's sick of it, so they're stealing, and a few are simply mass leeching because they have nothing else in life.

large music collections...
I'm an mass sharer since years in soulseek and I don't regret anything. Surely it is a delight for me to see sick, extreme and distorted electronic music spread around the world daily, but it isnt the only delight in my life.
Breakcore and hardcore techno, noise etc (or you might call it just ''modern music'') have a basis in worldwide exchange of music and I gladly participate in it despite of your prejudicial view on people like me.

Well said, prices for some band releases can be in the hundreds of dollars now, for things you can download for free.
Downloading - 5 Reasons
1. Music is overpriced and often poor value for money considering the drivel thats produced nowadays.
2. It's quite exciting when something arrives on your harddisk that you've been trying to get hold of legitimately for ages.
3. Gives you the chance to listen to a range of music far wider than if you had to pay for it.
4. It's often the only practical way to obtain rare music, particularly in the electronic genres, such as Trance.
5. People with self-esteem issues horde tracks as if a large music collection increases their value in the eyes of others.
