Primitive diet

Post by prozak »

In the big cities, people have gone nuts over fad diets (again) because they cannot really fix any of the big problems in their lives, so they blame their 'besity (more calories taken in than are expended) on their diets instead of the number of calories balanced by amount of exercise.

Instead of keto, paleo, etc. I suggest a simple principle: eat what your ancestors ate.

That means simple shopping around here. Meats, vegetables, rough bread, dairy, and herbs (not spices). This is what my ancestors in Europe ate, and if they survived it, I likely will as well.

This thrusts us up against the modern food tendency, which is that everything is a sandwich. Pizza, burrito, tendies... all a variety of sandwich, or meats, dairy, and vegetable wrapped in carbs. Traditional dining was more based on stews, casseroles, roasts, and salads.

Consider the benefits of having leafy green vegetables, mushrooms, carrots, green onions, parsnips, turnips, rutabaga, pasta, cabbage, and summer squash in your diet instead of the cheaper modern alternatives like bread, cheese product, preserved meat, and canned sauces.

Luckily this diet says nothing about refrigerators, which enable you to cook once and eat many times.
You shall give praise... to Satan
