I must add self-esteem to my own list of "Nonsense" concepts.  I usually go along to get along and use it in the conventional sense, for purposes of communicating with my fellow humans. But self-esteem / self-worth does not exist in biology, physics, or anywhere else. It is simply a relational and contextual variable determined by 'the market' - which market ceased to be pure biology long ago, only to be replaced by an over-socialized, extractive, parasitic system that has evolved to reproduce mostly morons.

In response to the grotesque 'valuation systems' out there, people are told to look inwards to develop their own sense of 'self-worth' without needing 'external validation;' but that leads to a split personality. To evaluate the self, one must become both judge and defendant, subject and object, which is crazy-making.

An arguably sane approach is to look at 'self-worth' like a glass of water that can only be understood relationally, contextually, and under high specificity. What is water worth? To someone who's trying to start fires or dealing with a flood - essentially zero. At the other extreme, in a desert, it may be ... EVERYTHING. Then the self-esteem sky-rockets, go figure (eye roll). 

The water didn't change. Only the context did. Otherwise, self-worth means nothing and it's basically a neurotic, perverse notion.     
 
Narcs need to feel like glasses of water to an entire world living in the desert. If they start having doubts about this, they detect something tragic in it. Vulnerable narcs must be literally taught that "it's OK for everyone to NOT like you," or even for most people to not like you.

Narcs act only for themselves because they are unable to connect with and value relevant others. Their existential goal IS ultimately themselves, often through the use of others, institutions, or ideologies. The point is to advance personal goals as dictated by self-image.     

In my view, all existential goals worth anything involve a sense of unity and connection with others, therefore life; but that cannot be reduced to abstractions and symbolism (as in "I love humanity"), or mere survival & reproduction.

The DT's toxic iceberg under the water is probably more massive than other hidden things because these people put a lot of effort in curating their personas. 

In my view, the narcissist is simply a fully-realized individualist. They do everything for themselves and never doubt that.

They also have to build up a sense that they are successful, but all of life does this; it is the "fiction-absolute" that Tom Wolfe wrote about.

In essence, its ego vs id - the logic 'chaos' of one's wiring. 
Fiction-absolute is ego. Becoming who you truly are (id-driven) is integrity and  innocent will-to-power. Jung called it 'the privilege of a lifetime.'
Loyalty to ego and social systems (the co-called "Worldly Factor") = disloyalty to Biology and God.   

I wonder if "loyalty to biology and God" is not Eternal Justice.

Forum is nice. It just feels weird to move from the mailing list. Amazing how any change, even trivial nothings,  messes with the brain.

This forum needs the action. One door closes, another one opens. After all these years failing to convince others of using email, a blog or forum, I have to be polemic in my regret and correction. Get off your phones and get on a computer. And I tap this on a numberpad using a 2022 Nokia flip phone I found in a plastic shopping bag among a bunch of phone chargers still with its documentation seeming unused. Get this, the operating system is called "chaos," KaiOS, Chinese as if anybody needed to guess. The settings include an ICE doumentation option in case anybody were so helpful as to list identifying info from a phone some gringo tossed them on their way inside the country.

Textig like this is a chore.

As my child, the years I lived raising myself, I put unhealthy emphasis on a spiritual observer which turned out not to be anything Abrahamic, but much like a classic Greek conception of daemon, hence myself observing myself and only later making the connection because of all the troubles being somebody is in this insane and inversive diversity times we're living. I imagine that psychopathy, neuroticism &c has a hole in the brain where there needs to be dreams, virtuous leisure escaping work and the rolecall of a civilization of workers and socialites. Imagination must be freed from the human.

At least it's a Nokia.

One area where forums beat everything else: we can track the progress of a conversation easily, over years and decades, and see where our suppositions lead.

It's different, yes, but it is also very far removed from what the normies and influencers are doing, and more importantly, gives us a place for a real public discussion.
